DURHAM, N.C., August 6, 2026 – Net Friends, a Durham-based Managed IT Services Provider, is proud to announce that CEO John Snyder has been named to the Durham Arts Council's (DAC) Board of Directors. For Snyder, joining the DAC board is a natural fit as a longtime Durham business leader invested in the cultural fabric that makes Durham one of North Carolina’s most dynamic and creative communities.

Snyder’s civic engagements extend beyond the technology services sector. He has served on the Information Technology Advisory Committee at Durham Technical Community College. Additionally, he has represented small business interests on the National Small Business Association’s Leadership Council, engaging federal policymakers on topics like cybersecurity and supply chain issues for small businesses. Beyond these commitments, Snyder is an avid potter, bringing the same dedication and craftsmanship to the wheel.

“John Snyder is exactly the kind of leader we want to guide and support this organization. He makes an outstanding addition to our Board of Directors,” shared Katie Wyatt, Executive Director of DAC. “He brings a genuine passion for what we do, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him on board.”

Snyder joined Net Friends in 1999 and became a co-owner in 2009, growing the company into the Triangle’s leading managed IT services provider, alongside his business partner Neelesh Patel. Nearly three decades of business leadership is a testament to Snyder’s belief that strong local businesses and a thriving local culture go hand-in-hand.  Additionally, Net Friends has been a longtime sponsor of DAC’s annual CenterFest Arts Festival hosted in Downtown Durham.

“I am honored to step into this role. Durham Arts Council has a tremendous history of celebrating the arts and its mission deeply resonates with me,” shared John Snyder. “I am committed to helping advance its impact alongside DAC’s leadership.”
